Surreality exhibition

This exhibition was a collaborative project that my Wayne State University Senior Studio classmates and I put together. Located at Popp’s Packing in Hamtramck, Michigan in December 2019, the exhibition included different mediums of work that explored moments of subconscious human thought and Surrealist practice.

I was fortunate enough to get to design the identity for the exhibition. The inspiration process lead me to start with something on the left. I wanted something simple yet experimental to embody Surrealism. Pictured on the right was the finalized poster design for the exhibition, and below was the postcard design.

For my personal exhibition project, I decided to create two Surrealist inspired collages and transfer them onto View Master reels. Made from magazine clippings and digital prints, the scenes are full of color, texture and wacky imagery. By limiting the audience's eyes to what's inside the View Master, they are invited to explore an altered reality.

CUT SERIES

This series includes five abstract, mixed-media collages experimented in paper/photo manipulation, cutting, scanning and painting. Inspired by artists, Alana Dee Haynes and Stefan Visann, who both produce mixed-media compositions.
